Privacy
Updated October 20, 2026
This policy describes the current free Chordly browser preview operated by MacL. Account and payment services are not enabled.
Audio and analysis
Audio files are decoded and analyzed on your device. Longer recordings download about 32 MB of recognition tools from this website; the browser may retain those public files in its HTTP cache. Those downloads contain no recording or chart data. Chordly does not upload them, send them to a model provider, or collect the resulting charts. Audio remains in memory for playback until you replace it or close the page. Chart backups include a SHA-256 fingerprint to match the original audio; they do not include the audio itself.
Data you choose to keep
Your theme preference is kept in browser local storage when available. Choosing “Save chart on this device” stores one chart, including its title (initially the audio filename), timestamps, chord edits and settings. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to view it. This is local storage, not encrypted cloud backup. Browser data clearing removes it. “Delete saved chart” removes the saved chart, while the open in-memory chart remains until the page closes. JSON and other downloads are files you control; deleting browser data does not delete downloaded files.
Hosting and external links
Vercel serves the public website and may process connection details such as IP address, browser request information and operational logs to deliver and protect it. Browser-local processing does not mean anonymous website access. This preview has no advertising, analytics SDK or tracking cookies. External documentation and MacL links have their own policies.
Controls and contact
You can use the app without saving a chart, remove saved site data in your browser, and keep exports in a private location. Do not put private details in chart titles on shared devices. For questions, use the contact route on MacL. This policy will be updated before accounts, cloud processing or payments are introduced.
